Course Overview

Enter the living conversation between human and green world.
In this four-week online journey, animist herbalist and ritualist Renée Danú guides you through the foundational practices of plant communication and spirit of place.
Through live teaching, guided ritual, and self-directed practice in your own bioregion, you’ll learn to listen, sense, and speak with the more-than-human world as a living field of intelligence.
Each week introduces key elements of animist herbalism: the art of reciprocity, reverence, offering, and prayer; the language of sensation and soft fascination; and the heart-based connection that allows plants to share their healing stories. You’ll also explore the Spirit of Place - the land that first breathed you into being and the land you now call home -learning how to honour both through relationship and ritual.
Participants choose one plant kin to walk beside them throughout the course, deepening through observation, journaling, and shared reflection within a small, intimate circle.
By the end of our time together, you will have cultivated a grounded method of nature communication, awakened your sensitivity to the subtle patterns of the living world, and strengthened your belonging within the web of Earth.
Plant Communication & Spirit of Place is part of the Kin of the Fiàin Danú ecosystem of earth-honouring teachings.
The Living Myth of This Work
"This course was born from the long conversation between myself and the green world. It came through years of kneeling in damp moss, listening to the slow speech of trees, watching how a single leaf mirrors the motion of the heart.
Every teaching in this offering was first shown to me by the plants themselves through scent, colour, dream, and the rhythm of breath shared in the wild places.
Plant Communication & Spirit of Place is not a method but a remembering: a rekindling of the ancient dialogue between human and land, soul and leaf. What you will learn here has been shaped by seasons of devotion, by the ancestral murmur that says, the world is alive, and it remembers you."

Lineage & Facilitator
This course carries the lineage of more than six years of dedicated teaching and three decades of direct initiatory practice with the plant realm.
When Plant Communication & Spirit of Place first began, few people were offering this kind of work in the digital space.
It remains an original body of teaching born from my lived relationship with the green world and from years of tending the ancient conversation between human and plant.
I am Renée Danú, an animist herbalist, ritualist, and green witch of Kin of the Fiàin Danú.
My work is rooted in ancestral remembrance, Celtic and Norse mythic lineages, and the bioregional spirits of the Southern Hemisphere.
As a word-bearer and earth-doula, I listen for the songs and stories placed in the soil by our ancestors - both human and botanical and translate them into practices of reconnection and ceremony for modern times.

Land & Ancestral Acknowledgement
We gather in this work upon the unceded lands of the Waddawurrung and Djaara Peoples, and I honour their deep and continuing relationship with Country.
I offer gratitude to the land spirits, the ancestors of place, and the waters and winds that hold these teachings.
Each participant is invited to honour the traditional custodians of the land they stand upon and to remember the ancestral soils that first breathed them into being.
May all our plant and human kin be held in reciprocity, respect, and remembrance.
Continuity of the Work
This course forms one thread in the wider tapestry of Kin of the Fiàin Dan a foundation for those called to deepen into the longer initiatory pathways of mentorship, devotional word-altars, and plant-spirit immersions.
Every circle, every encounter with the living world, ripples outward to the next: a continuum of relationship, ceremony, and remembrance that continues to unfold through each season of our shared work.
